The Curriculum

The curriculum for young children is often described simply as "The curriculum is the child." As a result, our curriculum features choices in activities that cover numberous subject matter, open-ended tasks, and skill development all in the context of play with teachers who make it a goal to extend the child's discovery. We believe intellectual learning takes place when we provide a wide variety of materials, activities and exploration in a well organized and well thought-out environment. We support a "developmentally appropriate" curriculum that addresses activities for each age and stage of development. This flexibility is a description of the "emergent" opportunity that allows teachers to take advantage of "teachable moments." In this way, learning occurs in the context of meaning for the child.

"Start children off on the way they should go, and even when they are old they will not turn from it."
Proverbs 22:6

Program Hours / Parental Support

As a parent, there is nothing more comforting than knowing your children are in a nurturing, safe environment all hours of the day. At Pasadena Christian Preschool, we understand the pressures placed on parents today. To help offset these demands, our program is flexible to meet each family's needs. Families can drop off as early as 7:00am and pick up anytime between 12:30pm and 6:00pm.

We also believe the most successful schools are those with the highest level of parental involvement. As a result, Pasadena Christian Preschool, in cooperation with our Parent Teacher Fellowship, provides and promotes numberous opportunities and activities for parents to get involved. Parents and families are encouraged to share their gifts and talents with the class. OUr belief is that you can never have too much help, especially when it is is our children's future at stake.

"We have different gifts according to the grace given us."
Romans 12:6
