January Missions Month

What does that mean?

Every year during the month of January we focus our attention on ministry that serves God around the world and what it means to be a missionary-at home or abroad. As well, the school selects a project toward which students are encouraged to contribute funds. Over the many years of this January emphasis, PCS students, staff and families have helped to build many houses in Mexico for those in need, provided the funds to dig wells at a school and orphanage in Swaziland, provided school supplies for children attending the Swaziland school, donated funds that were distributed through World Vision and Habitat for Humanity to help with tsunami and hurricane relief among other things.

Our Project For This Year?

Providing funds to support the microfinance program of Opportunity International a faith-based organization helping to provide small loans to individuals that will allow them to start or build a small business and pull themselves out of poverty. For many there is no other opportunity to receive financial help to better their lives and the lives of others in their villages and/or communities. Our Goal?

We have set a goal of $8,000 for this year’s project.

How Can We Reach Our Goal?

  • The students have been asked to seek what God would have them do and then be obedient to His leading.
  • Collections begin immediately and continue until February 12.

  • Students may bring their donations to the classroom on any day.

  • Encourage your child to find ways to earn the money they donate.

  • If you as parents wish to donate you may do so. Cash or a check made out to PCS is the way to do it.

  • All contributions are tax deductable. PCS will write a receipt for any single check over $100.
