Hello Parents!

We’ve got a line-up of new and exciting art classes for this second semester.

Our classes are taught here on campus in room 15 by Heidi Hart, PCS’s Meet the Masters and Art Electives teacher. Our classes are convenient, (no drop off or pick up) and the price is a reasonable $12.50 per session. (For example, a class that meets twice will cost $25.00. BYH charges and materials fees will be added to that amount.) This is a great opportunity for your child to learn some new techniques in a relaxed and familiar setting.

As before, to better suit the age and capabilities of our students, we are now offering classes to those students in grades K – 2 on Tuesdays and children in grades 3 – 6 on Thursdays. NOTE: students in grades 3 – 6 can attend EITHER day. This change allows Ms. Hart to better adapt the activity to each age group, giving more attention to the younger students on Tuesdays and likewise, giving the older students more of a challenging art lesson during their Thursday time. Class # 6 SPECIAL VALENTINE’S DAY PROJECT*. $5.00 materials fee.
(2/12, 2/13 or 2/14) One class meeting. All three dates open to ALL age groups. This is a one-session class where students will create a special Valentine for a very special someone. Each project will be wrapped so it will be a happy surprise for the recipient!

CLASS # 7 – SPECIAL PHOTOGRAPHY CLASS!. $17.00 materials fee includes cameras and developing. Back by popular demand!
(2/19, 2/26 and 3/04 or 2/21, 2/28 & 3/06) Three class meetings. Children LOVE taking pictures. In this fun class we will learn about concepts such as line, contrast, shadow, pattern and value. Returning students will expand upon their knowledge of the camera with story telling and theme pictures. Students will be given two disposable cameras to use for picture taking here on campus. PCS will also develop the film. Photos will be critiqued and favorites will be mounted. These favorites will be put on display in the school library then later entered into our paneled school Art Fair in May for potential ribbon awards! (Questions? Feel free to call Ms. Hart.)

CLASS # 8 – SPECIAL EASTER PROJECT*. $5.00 materials fee.
(3/18 or 3/20) One class meeting. Either date open to ALL age groups. We will be making a special Easter project in this class!

CLASS # 9 – PAPER PEOPLE. $6.00 materials fee.
(4/15, 4/22 or 4/17 & 4/24 ) Two class meetings. Boys and girls alike enjoy creating outfits and costumes during playtime. In this class we will take a different twist by making paper people (about the size of a paper doll) and designing our own outfits: everything from astronauts to cowboys to scientists and more!

CLASS # 10 – SPECIAL MOTHER’S DAY PROJECT*. $5.00 materials fee. (4/29, 4/30, or 5/01) One class meeting. All dates open to ALL age groups. Moms LOVE handmade gifts. Create one for her or another special mom in this one-session class. Projects will be wrapped – ready for gift giving.

CLASS #11 – SPECIAL FATHER’S DAY PROJECT*. $5.00 materials fee.
(5/20, 5/21, or 5/22) One class meeting. All dates open to ALL age groups. You know, Dads LOVE handmade gifts, too. Stay for one class and bring home a special wrapped gift for a special Dad.
